FAQs

To support you during this challenging time, we have put together a list of some of our most frequently asked questions. As the situation is evolving daily, please bear with us while we update this page.

If you have a question you would like answered or that you would like to see added to our FAQs, please email marketing@ncea.org.uk.

Your questions, answered.

If your child starts to develop symptoms of Covid-19, please follow Government guidelines by self-isolating and obtaining a Covid test. If your child has a positive Covid-19 test result, and they HAVE been attending school you must inform the school as soon as possible.

School nurseries are under the same guidance as schools and reopened to all children from 08/03/21.

If you have opted to receive correspondence from your child’s school, all important updates will be delivered to you via either letter, email or text message. Alternatively, you can keep up to date with all of the latest news via the NCEA Trust website and our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn). This applies both during lockdown and when schools reopen if your child is unable to attend due to Covid-19.

The DfE has now confirmed that all GCSE, A Level and vocational exams, including BTECs, originally scheduled to take place this summer have been cancelled. Pupils will instead receive their results via Teacher-Assessed Grades, using data from coursework, class work and mock exams to evidence their final outcome. You can find more information on how this will work here. If you have any concerns, please contact your child’s school directly.

Yes – full uniform is expected at all of our schools and campuses when children are on-site. However, the same flexibility remains in place within Castle School.

All secondary school pupils (aged 11+) must currently wear a face covering while inside the school building. This guidance is in line with the government’s most recent guidance on the use of face coverings in secondary settings issued in December 2021.

Primary-age pupils are not expected to wear a face covering but can if they wish to do so with their parents’ permission.

Castle School pupils are exempt and are not expected to wear a face covering however some pupils are choosing to do so.

No – the school hours at all of our schools/campuses remain the same as they were pre-covid.

From the earliest days of the pandemic, we have implemented robust safety measures at all of our schools and campuses in compliance with our Covid-19 risk assessment to ensure that our pupils and staff are protected while in school. You can find information about all of our safety measures on our website here.
