How can you help? Volunteer with us!

Do you have what it takes to become a Trustee or Governor?

At NCEA Trust, we are seeking Governors and Trustees to help our children let their light shine!

Your perspective, skills and experience could make a real difference to the future of the next generation.

Positions will be open to application until we find the right applicant and they are appointed.

See more information below:

Governors

Do you care about the future of children in our community? NCEA Trust is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join the Local Governing Bodies of our schools across Ashington, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, Lynemouth, Warkworth and Alnwick.

You don’t need to be an education expert or a parent

As a Trust, we want a diverse board that reflects our vibrant community. We especially welcome practical thinkers, local business owners, community organisers and NCEA alumni who want to give back.

As a governor, you will help oversee the school’s unique identity, ensure pupils are safe and thriving and connect the school tightly to local connections. You will act as a ‘critical friend’ to the Headteacher, helping to oversee the highest standards of education, safeguarding, accountability and compliance. You will be a voice for the community and a vital link between the school and local families.

Contact governance@ncea.org.uk to express your interest or to learn more about what this role entails.

Trustees

Are you passionate about making a lasting difference for young people in Northumberland? NCEA Trust is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join our Board of Directors as a Trustee and key members of our Finance, Operations and Risk Committee.

You don’t need prior governance experience to apply

We are looking for a strategic leader with current or recent senior finance expertise in an organisation of equivalent scale. Whether you bring skills in financial strategy, public sector funding or risk management, your insight will directly shape the future of our nine schools and over 2,500 students.

As a Trustee, you will provide high-level governance, safeguard the Trust’s financial sustainability and hold executive leaders to account. Serving as a strategic partner to the Trust, you will be driving educational standards and supporting our Christian ethos across the region.

Meetings take place in-person in Ashington (six Board and six Committee meetings annually).

To apply, send your CV to governance@ncea.org.uk or email to find our more about this opportunity.
