Caretaker – Peripatetic

Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round
Salary: Band 4 – £25,584 – £27,269 per annum 
Contract: Permanent
Closing Date: Wednesday 16th April 

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, pro-active and conscientious Caretaker to join our Facilities Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running and maintenance of James Knott Primary School with occasional cover when required at other school sites across the area ensuring a safe and clean environment for all users.

You will ensure the security, safety and efficiency of the school. You will contribute to a wide variety of tasks including daily unlocking/locking of the school, maintenance of school buildings, DIY tasks, minor repairs and carrying out mandatory testing.

You may be required to provide cover at other schools and carry out any other duties appropriate to the nature, level of the post and grade (Peripatetic Caretakers).

You will be required to understand that the safety and wellbeing of our pupils is always our priority.

Assistant Cook – Peripatetic

Contract type: Permanent 
Salary: Band 2 £24,027 – £24,404 (actual £10,918 – £11,090) 
Closing Date: Wednesday 30th April 
Hours: 20 hours per week 

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Peripatetic Assistant Cook to join our dedicated catering team at Dukes Secondary School. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and is passionate about providing nutritious meals in a school environment.

The role involves supporting the preparation and serving of meals, maintaining high standards of hygiene, and ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations across both sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff.
  • Travel between school sites to support catering needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures consistently.
  • Support with the cleaning and upkeep of kitchen equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with the wider catering team to ensure a high-quality service.

Cleaning

We currently have several cleaning positions within the Trust. These positions are working term time plus 9 additional days. Salary £12.26 per hour.

Josephine Butler Campus

Salary:  £23,656 per annum, pro rata.  Actual salary – £18,848
Hours:  32.5 hours per week, term time plus 15 additional days (10:30am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday, including a 30 unpaid break each day)
Contract:  Permanent
Closing Date:  12 Noon, Monday 24th March 2025
