The Northumberland Church of England Academy is a Multi Academy Trust that strives to provide a supportive, diverse and inclusive learning environment for staff and students.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our school for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic teacher to teach and lead our new specialised Early Years/Key Stage 1 unit within the school.
This small teaching unit, based within our two form entry primary school in Newbiggin by the Sea, will focus on meeting the needs of our SEND pupils who have moderate learning difficulties and/or Communication and Interaction needs. Their needs will be met through an adapted curriculum for which you will be responsible.
You will be an experienced teacher who has a passion for meeting the needs of our most vulnerable pupils who may also have experienced a challenging start to their young lives and early childhood
trauma. The pupils’ needs will range from high needs SEND pupils to pupils with EHCPs.
You will be supported by the school SENDCo, Headteacher and the wider SEND Team led by the Director of Primary SEND within Northumberland Church of England Multi-Academy Trust. This unit will be opening in September 2024 and you will have the opportunity to lead this exciting development which is part of our continuous drive and expansion to meet the needs of all our learners.
