Salary: Band 4 £24,294 – £25,979 pro rota (actual £20,950 – £22,400)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days

Castle School are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful level 3 teaching assistants to join a team of dedicated specialist support staff. The successful candidate will enjoy playing an effective role in supporting students with complex needs, and have an appreciation of how rewarding it is to see the children and young people develop their skills and independence.
The learners within Castle School have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties such as autism, and receive their education from a highly dedicated and experienced team of teachers and teaching assistants.

Main roles and responsibilities:
- To undertake activities, as directed by the teacher, with whole classes, individuals or small groups of pupils.
- Building positive relationships with students to help ensure that they feel comfortable and safe.
- To have challenging expectations that encourages children to act independently and build self esteem.
- Developing and implementing IEP’s.
- Assessing the individual needs of the children and working to ensure they are supported as effectively as possible.
- Undertake the maintenance of pupils’ records and accurately record achievement.
