Castle School is a Special School within NCEAT that caters to 134 children with complex and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities. The school aims to provide an individualised and innovative learning experience for its students, with a team of dedicated staff that create a supportive learning environment.

Castle School are looking for creative and passionate individuals to join the committed team in September 2024 and work with students to help them develop and reach their full potential in a purpose built environment.

It is essential that the successful candidate is patient, supportive and hardworking, with a can-do attitude to helping the children with their learning. In return, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the development and support of the children, whilst working within an experienced team of support staff.

Please note, interviews for this position will take place on Thursday 4th July.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the children in their access of learning.
  • Encourage the children to engage in activities in the classroom lead by the teacher, and respond to the needs of each individual child in order to support them effectively.
  • Attend to the personal needs of the children, including the implementation of personal learning programmes that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and students in order to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported.
  • Support the class teacher with the delivery of the lesson and any activities involved for the children, encouraging them to interact with each other and act independently where appropriate.
