Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days
Salary: Band 2 (£22,737 – £23,114 pro rota) actual £17,225 – £17,510
Contract: Fixed term and permanent contracts available

Castle School is a specialist school within NCEAT that caters to children with complex and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities. The school aims to provide an individualised and innovative learning experience for its students, with a team of dedicated staff that create a supportive learning environment.
Castle are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and resourceful individuals to join the team of specialised teaching and learning staff who enjoy being effective in supporting students with complex needs and have an appreciation of the positive attitude required to encourage independence in our students.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working creatively to help students develop and reach their full potential in a purpose built environment, whilst working as part of a committed team. It is essential that the successful candidate is patient, supportive and hardworking, with a can-do attitude to helping the children with their learning.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the children in their access of learning.
- Encourage the children to engage in activities in the classroom lead by the teacher, and respond to the needs of each individual child in order to support them effectively.
- Attend to the personal needs of the children, including the implementation of personal learning programmes that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives.
- Build positive relationships with staff and students in order to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported.
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of the lesson and any activities involved for the children, encouraging them to interact with each other and act independently where appropriate.
