Castle School is a Special School that caters to 134 children with complex and multiple learning difficulties and disabilities. The school aims to provide an individualised and innovative learning experience for its students, with a dedicated staff team that create a supportive learning environment.
It is essential that the successful candidate is patient, supportive and hardworking, with a can-do attitude to helping the children with their learning.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the children in their access of learning.
- Encourage the children to engage in activities in the classroom lead by the teacher, and respond to the needs of each individual child in order to support them effectively.
- Attend to the personal needs of the children, including the implementation of personal learning programmes that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives.
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of the lesson and any activities involved for the children, encouraging them to interact with each other and act independently where appropriate.
