Salary: Band 5 £24,496 – £27,344 (actual £21,130 – £23,589)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days

Dukes Secondary School currently has a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Year to work under the guidance of the assistant principal. The goal is to create a climate within the year group that allows ‘teachers to teach’ and ‘learners to learn’.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the care and behaviour of learners
  • Monitor the progress of individual learners and ensure that parents/carers are well informed.
  • Liaise with other schools in order to arrange learner transfers and placements.
  • Arrange and promote activities within the year group.
  • Celebrate learner achievement and promote the values of the Academy through everyday routines and practices.
  • Work with the SENCO to ensure that learners receive appropriate support.
