Salary: Band 5 £26,421 – £29,269 (actual £22,793 – £25,250)
Hours: 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional days

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour and Intervention Assistant to join Duke’s Secondary School and support students facing specific behavioural, emotional, academic and/or social challenges.

This role is designed to encourage the students to develop and achieve through monitoring academic progress and ensuring appropriate learning behaviours are carried out in lessons and around school.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establish positive working relationships and partnerships with young people and their families.
  • Manage an identified cohort of learners in need of extra support in mainstream and intervention classes, liaising with parents and ensuring progress.
  • Work alongside class teachers to ensure that the students needs are met and any necessary support is provided to help them progress.
  • Help ensure that student records are updated and maintained in line with policy and procedures.
  • Create and implement suitable learning activities for students and encourage them to engage in lessons with the class teacher and intervention sessions.
