Salary: Band 6 Point 19-23 (£14,987 – £16,224) Pay award pending

Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust is looking to appoint a committed, articulate and organised individual to provide governance and clerking support to the Head of Governance and work alongside a team of dedicated professionals.

The successful candidate will be professional, determined, and able to self-manage a flexible diary, as the nature of the role will necessitate some late afternoon/evening work. This position is well suited to an individual with excellent communication skills and a keen attitude to learn.  The successful candidate will be expected to complete a Level 3 governance qualification.

Degree/further education level or relevant clerking experience is essential.

Duties include:

  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships both inside and outside of the Trust.
  • Advising and updating boards on current educational and procedural matters.
  • Providing administrative, organisational and clerking support to a number of Boards
  • Carrying out parent and staff governor elections
  • Managing and processing confidential information effectively in line with policy and procedures.
  • Recording clear and accurate minutes during meetings.
  • Clerk ad-hoc panels such as appeal panels for complaints, pay and exclusions.
