The NCEA primary curriculum is designed to engage pupils and inspire them to become creative and independent thinkers with a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge.
At William Leech Campus our curriculum is broad and balanced. Above all, our aim is for lessons to be engaging and our staff work hard to plan and provide exciting learning opportunities for all pupils. We want to equip children with the skills they need to be lifelong learners. Children are encouraged to talk about their learning with each other, with adults in school and at home.
Classes cover a range of topics over the year as well as taking part in special creative weeks to develop skills over a more intensive period. These include Enterprise, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and Active Weeks.
Our curriculum is enhanced through community links. We endeavour to be a key part of the community and work closely with groups in Lynemouth such as the Woodhorn Colliery Museum, Friends of the Dene and the local council to ensure our children contribute to the place in which they live.
