Learner Welfare

Learner Welfare at NCEA

Within the Academy we aim to create an environment where learners feel secure, valued and are encouraged to talk in the knowledge that they will be listened to. In addition to the staff available on all campuses and to support this we employ a team of professionals to work in partnership with parents and carers of learners throughout all our campuses.

NCEA also work in partnership with the NHS and Youth Service, and host drop in sessions regularly within all campuses. We can also provide signposting and information about a wide range of support services available in the local area.

Learner Welfare staff are able to provide support to find a way to deal with any worries and concerns you may have and offer friendly, non-judgmental support and advice on a range of issues such as:

Access to parenting programmes
Family issues such as bereavement, separation, financial worries etc
Advice regarding domestic violence
Opportunities to learn as a family
Medical Concerns
Information on Child Development
Information about your child’s learning
Academy attendance and punctuality
Support to manage your child’s behaviour

In 2012, NCEA became a Stonewall School Champion, recognising that we provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for all children and young people and we actively challenge homophobic bullying and celebrate difference in all our Learners.

If you feel you would like support or advice or would like more information please get in touch directly with your child’s campus or call Sandra Brown, Director of Learner Welfare on: 01670 816111 Email: learnerwelfare@ncea.org.uk
