NB – In order to progress onto this pathway you must have an attainment 8 score of at least 40. The A-level options are only open to those who meet the individual subject entry criteria (see prospectus).

Both CCF pathways are led by staff that are able to deliver training in public services using their collective experience with armed forces, Army Reserve and cadet forces. The Contingent Commander and School Staff Instructor have both served on operations in Northern Ireland, Former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan and have experienced a range of jobs and appointments in the armed forces, including experience of working with the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force.

Staff expertise also enables and promotes student participation in adventure training, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, first aid, map reading and additional qualifications that will enable the students to effectively prepare for future employment in any of the uniformed services.

L2 Pathway

From September 2017 we have introduced a L2 Pathway, designed for those students who wish to attend JBVI but are not quite ready to progress onto L3 (A-level equivalent) courses. This is a one year option, designed as a preparatory year with the expectation that as long as they have reached the required standard the students will move on to use L3 vocational pathway for the next academic year.
