At the Academy, we love to hear about successful students:
Dear Mr Day
My daughter attends The Northumberland Church Of England Academy and she is a member of the NCEA Cadet Force and cadet band within the school. She marched in the parades over the weekend as the bands bass drummer and she is currently learning the side drum too.
I was privileged to be able to attend the remembrance parades at the weekend and the lovely service the cadets performed at St Mary’s Church in Morpeth. Proud does not even come close to how I felt seeing the cadets march together and seeing the private service they held at St Mary’s Church where the pipers played and all the cadets lit candles for all the lost Polish/ Belgium soldiers.
My daughter is a changed young lady since joining the cadets. She is a lot more focused now and her school work and her recent school report was outstanding and I believe that this is down to the help, support and inspiration she gains from the cadets. She has been on a lot of weekends away with the cadet force and has learned a lot of new skills. She is currently working towards the silver award for her Duke of Edinburgh award.
This email is mainly to thank the school and cadets for giving our children this fantastic opportunity.
Year 10 Parent
As part of our programme for Year 11 students, we are once again organising special revision sessions during the Easter holidays.
The focus of these sessions will be to support students and to help them achieve the best possible grade in the forthcoming examinations.
We feel that this is an ideal opportunity for many of our students to gain more practice in examination technique, embed knowledge and benefit from extra support to build confidence.
